In this 4 week course, you’ll learn how to throw teapot bodies off the hump, craft well-fitting lids, and attach spouts to create a functioning teapot. Students must have wheel-throwing experience and feel comfortable centering 2+ lbs of clay in order to keep pace with the class.

Week 1: Introduction to Throwing off the Hump, Throwing Teacup Sets
Week 2: Throwing Teapot Bodies & Lids off the Hump
Week 3: Throwing Spouts and Construction of Teapot
Week 4: Glazing Teacups and Teapots
Class fees cover instructed class time, use of tools and equipment, open studio hours, studio glazes, kiln firings and 1x bag of 25 lbs of clay (clay body is chosen at the discretion of the instructor). Additional clay is available to purchase.
To cancel a class, please email us and request cancellation. The cancellation request must be received two weeks prior to class start. If the cancellation request is received two weeks prior to the start of the class, a refund (minus $20 processing fee) will be granted. We are unable to accommodate cancellation requests received less than two weeks prior to class start.
No make up classes are available. Please review our class meeting schedule to ensure you are able to attend all classes.
Any items left behind 15 days after the final class meeting may be discarded. Reasonable attempts will be made to contact you for pickup prior to staff discarding said items.
Non member students will receive complimentary studio access outside of class hours during designated open studio hours.
Complimentary open studio hours only apply to the classroom wheels.
Classes are subject to change if the minimum student quota isn't met (6 students).
