Six Week Classes
We offer six-week courses, which include clay and firing for pieces made during class. Complimentary practice hours during select times for students are also included with your class. Classes are adults only.
Our Beginner wheel throwing class will teach you the basics of centering, opening, pulling walls, trimming and preparing your piece for firing.
Intermediate and Advanced courses are also available for students who are ready to take their skills to the next level.
Please review our cancellation policy before signing up for a class. There are no refunds, make-ups, or deferrals once class begins.

Beginner Wheel Throwing (Level 1)
Course Duration: 6 weeks, April 18th - May 23rd
Time: Saturdays, 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM

This course is designed for first-time potters or for those who are looking to review beginner foundations before moving on to the next level.
Beginner courses will start with the very basics of working with clay and take you through a step by step process of making a piece to finishing a piece. You will be introduced to the basics of wheel throwing, an overview of the different stages of clay, and various other techniques like trimming and handle attachments. Finally we will end with glazing and how to add the finishing touches to complete your piece.

Class fees cover instructed class time, use of tools and equipment, open studio hours, studio glazes, kiln firings and 1x bag of 20 lbs of clay (clay body is chosen at the discretion of the instructor).
The first class is mandatory to attend as we go over studio procedures, safety rules and foundations that are needed to progress in the second class.
To cancel a class, please email us and request cancellation. The cancellation request must be received two weeks prior to class start. If the cancellation request is received two weeks prior to the start of the class, a refund (minus $20 processing fee) will be granted. We are unable to accommodate cancellation requests received less than two weeks prior to class start.
No make up classes are available. Please review our class meeting schedule to ensure you are able to attend all classes.
Any items left behind 15 days after the final class meeting may be discarded. Reasonable attempts will be made to contact you for pickup prior to staff discarding said items.

This course is designed for students interested in building functional and decorative pieces using hand-building methods.
The hand-building course will start with the very basics of working with clay and take you through a step by step process of making a piece to finishing a piece. You will be introduced to the basics of coiling methods, pinch methods, slab construction, an overview of the different stages of clay, and various other techniques like surface design and handle attachments. Finally we will end with glazing and how to add the finishing touches to complete your piece.
