Pit Firing Workshop

Miki Shim

Miki Shim returns to the Bay Area for a Pit Fire workshop! Participants will learn the best practices for making, trimming, burnishing, firing the wares in the camp fire rings at the beach and discuss finishing options for after the firing.

We will meet in the studio for three days for making, and then meet on the beach for the firing. Hand built wares and wheel works are both welcomed. Some clay experience is required to keep pace with this workshop.

Participants will receive a half bag of B-Mix and a half bag of Red Velvet for the class. Additional clay is available for purchase. All firing materials and supplies are included in the workshop fee.
